We are a collective of physical and mental specialists in Amsterdam (area Westerpark, Staatsliedenbuurt, Jordaan) and we focus on improving your wellbeing on all levels.

Meet Coen, our well-rounded Personal Trainer and certified Functional Patterns HF Practitioner. A former professional water polo player and competitive swimmer, who faced a life-altering accident at 25 in Capetown, experiencing severe physical and mental challenges. Despite disorientation, emotional struggles, and memory loss, he received support from health professionals, gradually rebuilding his life. Reconnecting with his passion for sports, Coen leveraged the benefits of movement to recover fully, both physically and mentally.Continually seeking new challenges, he delved into classical weight training, gymnastics, calisthenics, olympic weightlifting, rugby, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, bouldering, and more and in the meantime he started his personal training career.
After intensive training and (international) studies in strength- and mobility training and movement, and after many years of working as a personal trainer, STAETSGEHEIM® was founded.
Coen always had a strong conviction and belief that movement grounded in human evolution benefits us most. And so he also became certified as a Functional Patterns HF Practitioner and can train you through their method.
Whether you need to build your (fundamental) movement capacities, or simply want to loose fat and gain lean muscle, increase strength and mobility, develop as an athlete or would like to learn physical skills, Coen can help you out. All levels and goals are welcome.

Meet Yaset. Originally from Cuba, he graced international stages as a classical dancer for Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam for a decade. Transitioning into health, strength and fitness, he holds international Personal Training Certifications, drawing from his own experiences to specialize in body awareness, movement quality, and injury recovery. Through personalized training, Yaset aims to guide and support those committed to positive life changes and enhanced well-being, offering joyful challenges beyond imagination.Also Yaset is a big fan and skilled teacher of boxing. He taught big classes at SportCity, training up to ten couples at a time. He focuses on solid fundamentals and safety, combining technique with conditioning and partner work. Yaset views boxing as a highly skilled discipline that demands coordination, movement, patience, and focus. With this mindset, he guides participants in learning boxing in a safe, structured, and engaging way.
Yaset can be booked for personal- duo training and for the small group boxing classes.

Meet Dario, a passionate movement scientist with a specialization in Sports, Exercise & Health and over four years of experience as a personal trainer. Certified in functional training and health coaching. Dario guides people who ask a lot of themselves to feel strong, energetic and balanced again: "No standard programs, but guidance that fits who you are and how you live, with an eye for quality and room for growth."

Meet Anna, one of our highly experienced Pilates teachers, specializes in guiding seniors with a history of injuries and in pre- and postnatal pilates, bringing a detailed and specific approach to her sessions.With a background in modern dance and a recovery journey with Pilates, Anna has worked with renowned studios in Toronto, New York, and Chicago before establishing herself as a master trainer and assistant director at Smartbody Studio in Amsterdam from 2006 to 2022.
Anna welcomes bookings for personal- or duo sessions. Also she is one of the teachers of our small group mat Pilates sessions.

Meet Devon, our seasoned Pilates instructor and certified Functional Patterns HF Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Originally from Canada, he has become a sought-after teacher in Amsterdam and abroad since moving here in 1989. Devon's tailored approach ensures that each session is safe, challenging, and, most importantly, enjoyable—fostering a deep understanding of the body and a passion for the art of movement.Devon has dealt with scoliosis and through the method of Functional Patterns he improved his posture, acquired structural changes, and decreased the pain. As a certified Functional Patterns HF Practitioner he can guide you through your journey.

Meet Daan: a passionate, creative Pilates instructor and former classical ballet dancer trained at the Dutch National Ballet Academy. Drawing from his own healing journey through Pilates after a burnout, Daan emphasizes creating a safe, joyful space for clients to explore and respect their bodies, fostering physical potential and the importance of enjoying the process. Experience Pilates as a path to ease, self-discovery, and playfulness with Daan as your dedicated guide.

Meet Jurriën, an actor, theatermaker and mover. He played in numerous very physical performances and he has nearly a decade of experience in movement. He is specialized in handstand, strength and mobility training through the methods of Ido Portal and Roye Goldschmidt. With Roye, he completed an intensive 1.5-year training.
He mostly uses bodyweight and he blends strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination into one dynamic training or workshop, in a playful yet challenging way. This makes it a very complete session and apart from making your body stronger and fitter, it also helps you to understand your body better and makes you a better mover.
He enjoys making people as enthusiastic about moving as he is and is always aiming that you reach your full potential.
Jurriën teaches small group sessions at Staetsgeheim and is available for 1 on 1- / duo sessions.

Jade (mom of a lovely son Savion) specializes in prenatal and postnatal training, offering tailored sessions that prioritize safety, recovery, and the unique needs of each client.Her approach is individualized, considering factors such as pregnancy progression, symptoms, and personal experiences.
Jade guides women through pregnancy with adjustments as needed and supports postpartum recovery to ensure an optimal transition into motherhood.

Meet Vito, a personal trainer and movement scientist in training, currently completing his degree in Human Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His fascination with the body’s adaptability started in the gym, but deepened after an injury during his studies forced him into a rough recovery — shaping his understanding of resilience from first hand experience.
With certifications in personal training (MILO Education) and breath coaching, Vito combines evidence-based training with tools for stress regulation. He works with people of all levels, helping them build strength, balance and lasting energy.
Drawing from his experience in powerlifting, Olympic lifting, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and triathlon, Vito tailors each program to your context and goals. Expect personal guidance, grounded in science, shaped around your life’s constraints.

Steve is our breathwork coach, who has been studying various breathing methods for over 30 years, initially to overcome asthma and later for the broader benefits of healthy breathing.His expertise, cultivated through a diverse range of practices, is applied to help individuals enhance various aspects of their lives. Whether seeking calmness, improved fitness, or better sleep, Steve tailors his approach to address individual priorities.
Beyond immediate goals, the exploration of additional benefits of better breathing becomes a possibility under Steve’s guidance.

Meet Ista. In 2012, a transformative shiatsu experience reconnected her with her body's wisdom and self-healing capabilities. Inspired, she pursued training in breathwork, tantra, and transformation, eventually becoming a certified breathing coach in 2021. Now, she brings her expertise to our breathing circles, sharing the profound benefits of her journey.

Meet Parvati, our experienced massage therapist with a journey that began in 2016 with Thai Yoga Massage training in Thailand.Since then, her passion has led her to various countries, including India, Canada, New Zealand, and NL, where she continues to enhance her skills through diverse courses and extensive training.
Specializing in Thai, Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Hot Stones massages, she also offers an array of treatments, including body treatments, facials, and unique therapies such as cupping and gua sha.
With each session, she brings a wealth of experience and a dedication to holistic well-being.
